PRAYER REQUESTS FOR 2008 BRAZIL TOUR

Voices of Youth 2008 needs an Accompanist for the 2008 trip to Brazil!  Planning for international tours occurs much sooner than the in-country tours, so we are in need of identifying who will be our accompanist for this trip now.

If you are an accompanist, please pray about whether or not God is calling you to this ministry.  If you know of someone who may be interested in being our accompanist, please pass this info onto them.  Otherwise, please pray for the Lord to send the right person for the team and this trip.

PRAY FOR VOICES OF YOUTH IN OTHER UMC CONFERENCES

After the selection of youth was completed for the 2007 Voices tour, an opportunity was presented by a youth from Ohio who submitted an application for this year’s trip.  The youth had previously attended a Virginia Conference UM church, had experienced a Voices of Youth concert, wanted to be part of Voices, and had made attempts to find or start a Voices-type program in Ohio. 

The adult team felt that the Lord was opening the door for the Virginia Conference to reach out and show other UMC conferences the impact that Voices can have on the lives of the youth participants, mission sites, and host churches.  After much prayerful consideration, this youth was also accepted for this year’s tour. 

The adult team has offered leadership from the Ohio UMC Conference the opportunity to join Voices for part of this year’s trip, in hopes of Voices taking root in Ohio.

Please pray about opening the doors of other conferences to start a Voices of Youth ministry of their own.
